Jimmy and Tony Licata, The Licata Brothers, and friends return to their favorite stomping grounds - the nationally-famous Altadena Coffee Gallery Backstage - on Saturday evening (7:00 PM) November 30. As in previous concerts, look for that unique blend of well-honed professional (classical and pop) musical training, youthful exuberance and a fresh look at the power of captivating original and beloved tunes to bring down the house.
This may be the perfect "hangover remedy" from too much Thanksgiving turkey and too many visiting relatives. On the other hand, if they are still in town, bring those out-of-town folks to experience the unique magic that is the Coffee Gallery Backstage. The Licata Brothers always put on a great show suitable for the whole family.
This date will also be the actual 19th birthday of Tony Licata and we have a special evening planned for everyone. It's another college-age tour de force, as Jimmy and Tony join their fellow Cal State Northridge Matadors Daniel Markus on drums and, making his Coffee Gallery Backstage debut, bassist Andre Alviso (himself the son of a CSUN ethnomusicology professor).
The Licata Brothers will again feature songs from their just-released third CD, "Kindle The Flame" and, rumor has it, they may also preview some exciting new original tunes planned for the fourth album sometime next year.
Want yet another reason to attend? Those at our June 8 concert were blown away by the skilled guitar work, angelic voice, mesmerizing stage presence, and wicked-smart lyrics of youthful professional singer-songwriter, Ms. Yosi Mesbah. Yosi has graciously agreed to return as a guest performer again. Simply put, you do not want to miss out on this outstanding female artist who won instant kudos from none other than the Coffee Gallery Backstage proprietor, Bob Stane.
Thanks again to all the loyal supporters of the Licata Brothers. Let's close out 2019 with a great event!
Admission: $20 at the door (cash or check only)
