Our Adventures

We didn’t expect that nearly 100 people would show up!

As part of our 2023 UK/Ireland Tour that we set up through the Bahá’í’s, we were invited to perform in the small town of Tuamgraney at St. Cronan’s Church. Advertised through the local newspaper as an evening of music celebrating unity, we were very excited to play that evening at Ireland’s oldest church in continuous use, with its origins dating back to the 10th century!

The church had a calming musky scent like pavement after a downpour. Passing below the spotted and cracked stone archway, we felt a shift in energy. The evening began with local musicians performing some classic American songs to warm up the audience. They coincidentally performed the timeless protest anthem Eve of Destruction, which we then removed from our own setlist. Our nerves settled after opening our performance with singing a prayer for strength and happiness. We surprised the audience with the lively Irish classic Finnegan’s Wake and this inspiring shift in mood reminded us of how we felt when we entered the building. These bridging on paranormal remnants of ancient times added an exciting layer to our performance – especially when we performed some traditional American gospel music. Something about a crowd of close to a hundred people clapping on the backbeat at a 10th Century Irish Church on the ???? anniversary of King Charlemagne’s coronation???? changes your perception of what performances can look and feel like. These seemingly complete strangers welcomed us with open arms and almost cleared out the rest of our merch inventory for our tour. After the show, we shook hands and listened to the unique stories behind each family and Tuamgraney local of all ages. Their enthusiasm and kind words encouraged us to always remember the vital role music plays in bringing communities together.
